rockstar in the making. . .

so here's a quick clip of abby bug attempting rockstar status. turn up your volume as you enjoy her screaming, errrr i mean, singing and dancing around to the beat of one of her new toys that santa brought her. i believe she wanted to eat the microphone at first, until she saw mommy capturing it on tape.

wish i could have snagged the clip of her dancing on top of the coffee table (yes, daddy showed her how much fun it is to dance on elevated areas), but this one provides ultimate cuteness all by itself. enjoy!

abby = BIG SISTER!!

well, if you haven't guessed it from the last post then you should know that i have drank the water and caught the preggers!! that's right, abby bug is going to be a big sister, and mommy is about to endure a heapful of fun chasing after a toddler while booby-feeding a baby. ;)
we are SOOO super excited about it that i can't see straight! we decided to announce it to both sides of our family while at christmas dinner. we put abby bug in a t-shirt that said, "i'm going to be a big sister" and let her prance around till someone saw and figured it out. . .it was CLASSIC! i think this was the best christmas yet after watching everyone's reaction to what is becoming yet another great milestone.
God is good, and life is great. hope everyone had a VERY merry christmas!

the suspense is killing me.

so i've always been really bad about surprises. both on the receiving and giving end. . .either i ask too many questions and end up figuring it out myself, or my mouth just turns into verbal vomit and i end up spewing it out.

well, i have come across a huge funtastic surprise as of last friday. . .it has only been 4 days, yet it feels like 4 weeks in which i have locked myself inside our house for fear that i will just start shouting it from the rooftops. i have only told 2 people of whom i consider my best friends, and that has put me at a slight ease for the moment.

the news will be broadcasted tomorrow night while at christmas dinner, and it is far more than i can take. . .the suspense is killing me!!
"dun, dun, dun, dunnnnnnn. . ."

"i lalala". . .close enough!

so we're trying to teach abby to say the phrase, "i love you." obviously, you can't tell your kid those precious words enough so we thought it'd be easy for her to pick up. well at first, her response to "i love you" was to blow kisses. . .of course we realized that that was her little way of reciprocating it back to us.

well earlier tonight, i told her again that i loved her, and abby bug replied back with a

"i lalala. . ." (blowing kisses)

my heart melted. she's halfway there. all i have to say is that once her word explosion comes along, i'm gonna be the biggest poon for whatever comes out of that sweet little mouth. i effin' LOVE that munchkin!!

elmo the guard dog

so hubby thought that surprising abby bug with a tickle me elmo was a good idea, i agreed. as soon as elmo arrived at our front door, we were SOO excited to see what abby's reaction would be to what we thought would be her new bff. . .boy, were we wrong. as soon as we tickled his belly, and elmo went into a frenzy of laughing and rolling around, abby bug started back-pedaling till her butt hit the wall. we then thought that maybe elmo wasn't such a hot purchase. until. . .

we put up our christmas tree. you see, a couple of years ago, i went out and bought a few dozen glass ornaments to hang on the tree. now that abby is mobile this year, the thought of her grabbing one and smashing it into tiny little pieces made me uneasy. . .so what does mommy do? i put elmo infront of our christmas tree, and she won't go near it!

pretty clever if you ask me. . .or is that just mean!?

and so it begins. . .

so here goes my first blog. ever since i met the fun girls in my new mommy group, i have been addicted to reading their blogs. it's the little things in life that make you laugh, especially when it pertains to your kid. i have learned soo much over the past 2 months just from watching my abby bug grow up and interact with other kids her age. . .i must admit, i am loving every second of being a first time mommy. and so it begins. . .

blogging till my fingers bleed! ;)
