pee in my pants

tonight after hubby got home, we dropped off the girls at nana lin's house while we rocked our vote, and then headed out to dinner. i am still sitting here wearing my "i voted" sticker proudly as i type. we love when nana lin watches the girls because her payment simply consists of godiva chocolate cheesecake.

anywayz, during our hot date tonight over dinner, we had some serious, deep, intellectual discussions about a variety of things. it feels so good to have nights like tonight when your brain juices are flowing, and there's no distractions such as your kids screaming in the background. one thing we talked about a lot were our friends and how much we love and appreciate every single one. we've always been the social butterfly type who got along with everybody. we don't pick and chose our friends in terms of what they can bring to the table or what they can do for us, and we try our best not to be judgemental. if you are a genuinely good fun person and have never purposely tried to make beef with us, then most likely, we will be friends.

it is fun having a good circle of friends. some are crazy and wild, and some are tamed and quiet. some are smart and sophisticated, and some are just dumb idiots. some are a little younger and more vivacious than us, and some are a bit older, but still vivacious as well. we really do enjoy surrounding ourselves with a big mix of different personalities and interests. after all, isn't that what life is all about? learning from those who are just like you as well as from those completely different. if i had the same generic circle of friends, i think my life would be boring. so here's to friends...every single one of you. thank you for always making us laugh, cry, be a better person, or there just to act like an idiot with. you're special in our book. :) lastly, i'll leave you guys with a quote that i just love...

Friendship is like peeing your pants.
Everyone can see it, but only you can feel it.
Thank you for being the pee in my pants.

I know this isn't related to the post but your hair looks GREAT in your picture at the top of the blog. Great family pic...kudos to the photographer!

We have the same philosophy about friends and friendship. I'm wary of people who seem to have other motives for friendship than they would have you believe.

BM- old? jaydoug says you're just seasoned. :) and yes, definitely wise!

jamie- thank you! i'm glad you like the pic. my hair looks a lot better than my eyes...they are so super chinky that you can't even see the whites of them. they get like that when i laugh or smile too hard. oh well, i guess it's because crouching in the grass was so much fun. =P

k-mom- again, we have too much in common. remember when we first met, and you said we should go to vegas with the odds of how much we have in common? (our kid's birthday, being fraternal twins, etc.) this is further proof. :)

Can I be the young friend? Anything to shave off a few years... Oh and if you pee'd your pants, I would so laugh. (RIght now I might pee my pants with you.) xoxo
