sunday's best

what better way to spend a sunday than by watching a herd full of little ballerinas in their tutus at the alabama theatre followed by a celebratory dinner with close friends (who are actually considered family) at our local favorite mexican eatery...congrats brooke! you looked beautiful up there and did a great job. we can't wait till next year when the mabster will share the same stage with you. *squeal* also, happy birthday grands! we can't thank you enough for all the numerous matching outfits, pillowcases, etc. that you have made for the mabster. i never knew i'd be so close to family who weren't actually my family...we think it's awesome.lastly, after dinner we headed to wal-mart to do some last minute shopping. this is one funny story that i simply could not resist documenting. most of ya'll have already read this on facebook, but here i go...

we were at wal-mart looking for light bulbs when all of a sudden this old man jumped in front of us out of no where, saw the girls, and started playing songs on his harmonica. they were entranced by him as he played like 3 different songs for them. we stood there for what seemed like forever while slowly walking away to give him the hint. we said, "alright, we gotta finish shopping," and then he busted out with "jesus loves me" on the harmonica. i thought fan-freakin-tastic!! it had dancability so i stood there for a bit and got jiggy with it. the girls loved him. in fact, abby talked about him ALL. NIGHT. and little lyla just sat there smiling from ear to ear. gotta love little old men like that. he told us that if we ever wanted to listen to him play some more that they have a group that "jams" at the jack's in f'dale on thursday evenings...MNO anyone??
