oh great lake

this weekend marked jay and i's weekend to have some friends up at our family lake house. if it were up to us, we'd have everyone come up at one time. however, since only a certain amount can fit on the boat, we pick our victims, and we pick them wisely. on saturday, brenda, becca, stacy, karla, and families were all there. not to mention that auntie jess and blake came up to play too for the day. now we know that the boat can hold 15 people at one time. and very comfortably too might i add. let the fun begin...so after swimming for a bit, we got everyone settled and ready to start tubing. ahh, mi favorita. okay, so before i begin, let me just tell you guys that this is why i love stacy mitchell. she is balls to the walls awesome. she is always the first to want to jump in when it comes to some tubing fun, and her "O" face is hilarious to watch. so we piled up all the kids on the tube with her. she was ready with drink in hand. no fear my dear, not an ounce of alcohol was spilled. yes, she's that good. oh, and the kids? they were safe and loving every second of it. after allowing the kids a joy ride that was soft and easy, it was time for some real tubing with the adults. again, stacy stayed on...she was drunk. cursing. praying. and closing her eyes. the whole time. i swear, i am still laughing.after the tubing wars ceased, we docked the boat and began swimming again. it's nice to just float in the lake, sippin' on some poison, laughing and chatting it up, and watching the kids beat each other with noodles. brenda pushed bryan into the lake while he was bending over to refill the water gun, and it was a sly move. the crowd applauded. the funniest thing though was when charlie pulled down his pants and peed right there in the lake. it was hysterical. in the words of his mother, "I told him to pee in the lake. I obviously didn't clarify. He said he didn't want to make his pants dirty. :)" love. it.after playing out on the water all day, it was time to grill out and eat. the menu consisted of pork tenderloin, green bean casserole, mac-n-chz, fried rice, buffalo chx dip, baked beans, brownies, and strawberry shortcake. yummmy. my mouth just watered after typing that. our bellies were full. we were happy and content. so were the kids. i can honestly say that the kids played the best i have ever seen. we were so incredibly impressed with how well the whole day went after waking up to the ugliest rainiest weather ever. guess you gotta put up with the rain before you get the rainbow. thanks guys, we had a blast!
