mother/daughter time

today the mabster and i got our toe-toes done did. i was in desperate need of a pedicure before leaving for the beach on thursday, and i knew today was the only time i could squeeze one in before stacy's birthday dinner. saying my toenails looked rough was an understatement. so jay came home early from work so that the mabster and i could have our first mother/daughter bonding time over getting our nails done. we were both super excited about it. as soon as we walked through the door, the mabster quickly picked out the polish she wanted. i was impressed. she's definitely not as indecisive as her mother. i sign us in, and we are immediately taken back to our massage chairs. seriously, i don't think we could have picked a better time to go. the place was dead. and so the pedicure process began as we sat side by side...the mabster LOVED it. she thought it was the coolest thing ever. i felt a twinge in my heart as i watched her sit there and be so obedient. the lady would paint her toe-toes red, and with each toe that was done, she'd look up at me in a sense of approval and excitement. she even asked me, "mommy, do you like it?" and i responded back with, "oh abby, i love it! it is SOO pretty!" she grinned from ear to ear. the lady even added a pretty flower with some sparkles to her big toe and went ahead and painted her fingernails for free as well. so now the proud mabster walks around showing off her pretty red and white polka dot fingernails and flowery toenails. i love that kid.
