welcome home, merriss!

so one of jay's fellow fraternity brothers and mutual friend finally got in last night for leave from the US Army. seems he was stuck in germany for 30 hours while waiting on his flight home. we were all excited to see him so tony sent out an email about getting together for an impromptu dinner and drinks at buffalo wild wings. the guys had a cold beer awaiting him and were eager to hear all of his war stories while in iraq. here's a picture of merriss with toshy. she was all smiles as he didn't quite know what to do with her. why the boys shot the breeze, the girls enjoyed watching the kids play together. lyla's BFF (claire) was there, and we all laughed as uncle tony taught them how to high five each other. as they shared cheerios and kix with each other, we couldn't help but think that one day they will possibly be sharing cigarettes too. cousin carson (claire's boyfriend) was there as well, scoping her out from across the table. it still amazes me that we are all parents now. hopefully our kids will never have to hear any of our stories from college. hopefully. overall, it was a great dinner with great friends. welcome home, merriss. and thank you so much for serving our country. you will always be a hero in our book.
