snowpocalypse 2011

saturday night, a snow storm was predicted in our forecast for the state of alabama. of course for days leading up to this, everyone had gone mad and cleared out every loaf of bread in every grocery store. we were excited. super excited. so when it finally started snowing and sticking enough for the girls to really enjoy looking at it, it was already past 9:00pm. schools and work were cancelled. again, the whole state practically shut down. this is how we roll. so some neighborhood kids all decided to give it a go down the front of our hill. i have to admit, it is a pretty good one. abby and lyla are watching through the windows when of course, they want to go outside and play in it too. earlier that morning, i went to wal-mart and picked out a long tupperware box that just screamed sledding so that's what they used. here are some pics...we all headed outside to play in it. i got both girls ready and daddy set them up in their makeshift sled. they go down the hill fast and furious. lyla takes a bite out of the hard ice filled powder and rolls out once she hits the bottom of the hill. it was hilarious and i'm glad she was a good sport since there were no tears. i asked her if she wanted to do it again and she said, "all done." so stinkin' cute. after watching abby go down repeatedly with her friends all at the same time, lyla and i headed back inside. we watched from our bedrooom window and it was perfect. daddy took pictures and it turned out being a pretty fun night where the girls stayed up way past their bedtime. the last picture is of abby making a snow (or should i say...) "ice angel."
