NICU: day 27

this blog post is brought to you by jay:

Arrived today at the NICU to visit with Jemma. The audiologists were conducting her hearing tests and she passed in both ears. Normally babies with PPHN and who are on the antibiotics that she was receiving can have hearing issues. Her nurse updated that she's been doing fine but had a little residual with her morning feed. Also, her occupational therapist was happy with the way she was feeding, and her physical therapist was happy with her motor skills and ability to focus on people with her eyes. Spoke with her NP and basically the only thing that is keeping her in the hospital is her ability to take every feed by bottle since she is no longer on any medications or antibiotics. Her head ultrasound looked good and her heart echo still showed the mass. The mass will be followed by cardiology when jemma is discharged but currently it is not causing her any problems. They seem to think it is just an abnormality on the valve. We'll pray that everything keeps going good and that she'll be home with us in the next couple of weeks.

"We we so excited!"
