NICU: day 31

this morning we got the girls ready and headed out the door for ellie's 4th birthday party at pump it up in pelham. this place has always been one of their favorites and in all honesty, daddy really enjoys it too. the place has a new huge inflatable course and they have moved a few things around which make the first play area look much bigger. mommy likey. all in all, everybody had a blast as always. happy happy birthday, ellie!after the birthday party, we ran a couple of errands, ate lunch, and came home. we relaxed for a couple of hours and then tita karla, uncle tre, and cousin carson came over so that they could watch the girls for us while we enjoyed a date night out. since my actual birthday falls on thursday (when sweet baby jemma will be home), we decided to go ahead and celebrate now since we don't want to leave her with anybody but us. not right now. no ma'am. far far too soon. that said, we head to the hospital first to see our sweet angel. she is sleeping so soundly as we pick her up and hold her for about an hour.

soon after, we drive over to the veranda on highland for our dinner reservations at 6:30pm. we eat, chat, eat, rinse and repeat. we had the crabmeat and corn beignets, shrimp and grits (me), berkshire pork shank (jay), and bread pudding. everything was absolutely delicious including the wine that accompanied the meal. it was a great dinner in honor of my upcoming 30th birthday. thank you, jay. you truly are amazing, and you don't know how much our quality time together means to me. i love how we can reminisce as far as we can and yet you were always the one there beside me in each and every story. our history is solid and you will always be my best friend. again, thank you for that. i love you with all my heart. here are some pics of us with sweet baby jemma before dinner...okay so rewind if you will. while jay and i were enjoying a lovely quiet dinner, just the two of us...our sweet little loud rugrats were having an absolute blast playing with their cousin carson on the trampoline with the water hose. tita karla said they were hilarious to watch. that they had so much fun...that is until lyla and carson started fighting over who got to hold the water hose. after loud screams...lyla won. this does not surprise me. she is a fierce one when it comes to what she wants. plus, sharing is not her specialty at the moment. this too shall pass, right? here are some pics...later in the night right before bedtime, they gave the kiddos a bath. abby, lyla, and carson all colored in the bath tub with the new crayon set that abby picked out earlier today. then, the girls washed carson's hair as he first enjoyed it, but was then left crying. look at that face. love it. thanks for watching the girls for us, karla and tre...looks like a good time was had by all. oh, and p.s. if you're a sicko reading this and trying to look at my kid's "junk" in these pics...well then, too bad, so sad, i blurred it out. stop looking. seriously. "there's nothing to see here..." hehe.
