throwback thursday

thursday's thoughts

1.) My kids are mixing up their yogurt with applesauce, eating it, & begging me to try some because "Oh my goodness, it tastes soo good!!"

2.)  You know you're exhausted after a long day when you can't even find the motivation to get back out the door for a relaxing pedicure.

3.)  RT: I don't care what math says; the 1990s were still only 10 years ago...

4.) : Facebook is the new American Dream. Get an idea, build something, renounce citizenship to avoid taxes, sell for billions.

5.) Crab cake on a bed of spinach salad with strawberry vinaigrette & almonds.

6.)  Dude in truck road my bumper up entry ramp to freeway. After passing me, I smiled & obnoxiously waved at him. He better be glad I waved all of my fingers & not just one. #JustSayin

7.) Absolutely adores when my kiddos pick me flowers from outside. Even if they're really weeds.

8.) : Have you ever noticed that the longer you stare at a word, it begins to look worng?

9.) I get stressed when I'm behind on my favorite TV shows.

10.) : There's no need to be perfect to inspire others. Let others be inspired by how you deal with your imperfections.

11.) Wednesday Fact #752: Guys poker night out will inevitably lead to Girls pizza night in.

12.) : I don't care what the expiration date says, I'm smelling the milk before I drink it.

13.) It's about that hit "Unsubscribe" from all my random emails in my inbox.

14.) Nothing like going to bed with your tummy rumbling & waking up four pounds lighter. Yesterday was a good "portion control" day.

15.) Random confession #753: I'm slightly obsessed with miniature toiletries & travel packs. I want them all.

pizza, pizza!!

the girls love making their own homemade pizzas with daddy. anything that they can create with their own favorite ingredients, get messy, munch on the pepperonis while preparing it, and then share with a neighborhood friend on the back porch for dinner is always a special treat for them. it's the little things in life, people...

memorial day weekend: day 4

monday marked memorial day and that morning, lola, tita karmie, tita karla, and the boys all came up for a day of fun. the cousins got to play together and it was funny to watch baby jemma pat and climb all over baby grant...she loves when she finds someone her size. lol. tita karmie and lyla got super affectionate with each other on the front of the boat while jay took the other kids tubing. later in the day, mamaw and tita karmie took the kids walking along the back roads where they picked wild flowers and blackberries. they were also on the search for frogs...that was one of my favorite things to do when i was a little girl. ahh, good times. hope everyone enjoyed their memorial day weekend and many thanks to those who fight for this great country and our freedom. we appreciate it so much. here are some pics...

memorial day weekend: day 3

on sunday, we invited up the willis family since abby has been begging for her friend and classmate (isabelle) to come up and play for the day. the mitchelle family was of course there as usual since the lake is not the lake without them. we grilled out and played till the sun finally decided to set. it was awesome and everyone had so much fun. jenn is also a fellow mamarazzi in the fact that she loves capturing the sweet "in the moment" pictures as well. between the both of us, we got some awesome pics that help summarize the day. btw, i stole a bunch of hers off of facebook because i know she doesn't mind one bit...i mean seriously, what are friends for? love you guys, we had a blazzzast!! xoxo

memorial day weekend: day 2

as tradition stands, every year we like to go to the alabama hot air balloon jubilee classic in decatur since it's only a few exits past ours and the kids absolutely love it. we arrived and sat in the grass as all the hot air balloons were being inflated around us. it was beautiful. here are some pics...

after watching all the hot air balloons fill up the sky, we decided to let the girls blow off some steam and play while enjoying some treats at the nearby carnival tents. you had to buy tickets to purchase food, drinks, or games so we bought $10 worth and let the girls pick what they wanted. they both decided on snow cones, a hair extension (abby got red while lyla chose purple), and rides down the inflatable tiger slide that they played on years ago. we all had a great time, but as the sun was setting we knew it was time to head back to the lakehouse before meltdown' thirty happened. sweet baby jem-jem didn't like this idea and nearly ripped off her daddy's face because she did not want to leave...she loved looking at the bright big balloons in the sky. it was hilarious. here are some pics...
lastly, these are two pics that i took on my phone and then filtered them through instagram. i like them a lot because the first one is full of festive flair and the second one was when some random nice man came up to us to ask if he could take our picture because "we matched the balloon going up behind us." this is why i love good-hearted people. that simple gesture completely made my day. here are the pics...

memorial day weekend: day 1

for memorial weekend, we headed up to the lake house as usual. we swam and played all day long and sweet baby jemma thoroughly enjoyed splashing around in the water as it was her first time ever to float around in the lake. here are some pics...
after a long day of playing, we changed into dry clothes and drove over to the farmhouse where mamaw made us some yummy chicken-n-dumplins for dinner. that is our favorite meal that she makes and after being water-logged all day, it definitely hits the spot. the picture below is of lyla in the same rocking chair that mamaw use to rock us in when we were babies. i never thought about that until she made the comment and i knew i had to get a pic. thanks for dinner, mamaw. we love you. xoxo

end of the year gifts

both abby and lyla's teachers gave us the sweetest gifts ever...SCRAPBOOKS!!!!! words cannot describe how much this meant to me. seriously. these crafty creations of my kids' artwork, pictures, questionnaires, daily events, and even the napkins that we wrote on and put in their lunch boxes that were saved as a sentimental token for us brought me to tears. i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this kind of stuff!!! thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! xoxo. here are a few pics from their giant collections...
