whitewater express camp champs: day 1

early sunday morning karmie, lisa, karla, and i made our way to whitewater express campground in copperhill, tennessee for a quick weekend getaway filled with adventures. thanks to a living social deal that karmie came across, she booked our trip that we have all been anxiously waiting for for some time now. when we first arrived, we checked in to the front office (aka, the outpost) where we signed our waivers for our first excursion: white water rafting down the ocoee river. we were so excited, but a bit nervous too since this was our first time riding the rapids. thankfully, we were given the senior guide (robert) who was awesome to us and a raft to ourselves. let's just say our raft was hysterical. we were cutting jokes, laughing, and screaming the whole time. even robert said that we were hurting his cheeks by making him laugh so hard. it was truly the best time and i can't wait to do it again. here are some pics that i took with my old waterproof camera. they aren't very good quality, but at least some of the moments were captured...and mostly during smooth waters for obvious reasons. hehe. here are some pics...
after surviving our whitewater rafting escapades, we all rode back on the bus that transported us back to the outpost where we returned our equipment. we finally made our way to our log cabin which ended up being the biggest and newest one their called the mountain lodge. we were absolutely blown away and joked that we felt like we were on the real world. the place was huge and slept 28 people even though there were just the 4 of us. it had an amazing view from the front porch and a nearby bonfire for our personal use. it was so campy and perfect. we got settled in, chatted on the front porch, and then took about an hour nap before heading back out to a nearby town for dinner later that night at a mexican restaurant. here are some pics...
