whitewater express camp champs: day 2

day two at camp began with horseback riding through the woods. speaking for myself...i'm not gonna lie, i was terrified being up on my big ole' horse named jeremiah. i've only gone horseback riding one time and that was years ago when jay and i were dating and the horse back then was much smaller. i think i was okay with it for awhile until jeremiah nearly jumped off a cliff with me on him and ran me into a couple of trees for his own amusement, i'm sure. anywho, this adventure was a lot of fun as well...in increments...when i wasn't dodging tree limbs and the such. here are some pics...
after our horseback riding adventure, we decided to go exploring throughout the campgrounds. we took some super cheesy pictures here and there and then later found the ropes course where i nearly died trying to climb up it. note to self: diet and exercise begin pronto. i would love to be high school fit kim. must work on that. anywho, here are some pics...

after exploring around a bit, it came time for lunch. we decided to drive back out to the nearby town to find a local eatery and do a bit of some shopping. the town was very small and quaint, but we loved the feel to it. it had so much character and again, we can't wait to go back. while walking around, we ran straight into the georgia/tennessee state lines and decided to straddle it for a "in two places at one time" picture. we ate lunch at the riverside grill where the service and food were great. for dessert, we all tried samples of deep fried moon pie, oreo, nutter butter, twinkie, and funnel cake balls...since i've never tried any of these, i have to say that the moon pie was my favorite. here are some pics...
lastly, we had to leave later that afternoon instead of the next morning since i wanted to make it to abby's last school field trip that was the next day. since i drove us, everyone was okay with this plan. we headed back to the cabin, packed up, and decided to stop at the gift shop where the Centennial Olympics took place back in 1996 for some quality ocoee whitewater rafting t-shirts and some sight-seeing. overall, it was a wonderful trip that we all truly enjoyed. until next time! here are some pics...
