ruby falls and chattanooga choo-choo

monday morning, i dropped abby off at her tita karmie's house because thanks to an awesome deal she found on living social, she had a super fun adventure planned for her before school starts. it was going to be the perfect ending to a wonderful summer. that morning, tita karmie and abby took a quick road trip to chattanooga. upon their first stop was ruby falls. for the most part, i will let the pictures do most of the talking since i wasn't there with them and am going based upon what karmie has told me. furthermore, abby has never been to any of these places before so to say she was excited the whole time is an understatement. you can tell by the pics that my sweet munchkin was having the time of her life.

when asked about her experience through ruby falls, abby told me that they went on an elevator that was thousands of thousands of miles underground (slight exaggeration there...but then again, she is only 6. lol) where they walked around in a big cave and saw many different rock formations that resembled funny and odd objects. at one point, she got to lead the tour and was given a flashlight from one of the guides. later they came across a huge waterfall that cascaded down. abby said that it changed from pink to purple to green and that it was absolutely beautiful. i can only imagine how big her eyes got. here are some pics...
after their fun visit at ruby falls, they checked in to the historic hotel at the chattanooga choo-choo located downtown where it was once a former railroad station owned and operated by the southern railway. they actually slept in an authentic victorian train car and abby thought it was the coolest thing ever. her tita karmie said that she was "choo-chooing" all over the place. here are some pics...
later after getting settled in, they went exploring and took a walk along the gardens, shops, and throughout the station. they grabbed a bite to eat where tita karmie ordered abby a pina colada (virgin, of course). abby said it was the yummiest. after lunch they went swimming for a couple of hours at the hotel's indoor pool and then ate dinner before calling it a night and heading for bedtime inside their awesome train car. overall, their first day in chatty was a big success! here are some pics...
