sunday mass x2

sunday morning, we attended the earlier mass than our usual one at OLS since abby was singing with her school choir. we arrived at 8:00am with her donning red and white cassock and cotta garments. abby absolutely loves to sing so when asked if she wanted to join the choir, there wasn't a doubt in my mind that she wouldn't say yes. lola came with us as we all enjoyed watching and listening to her sing throughout the mass. it was beautiful. here are some pics...
later that night, we attended the Junior Cavaliers Appreciation Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hoover at 5:00pm. we wanted to thank Father Kelly and the church for starting up the JCC Football and Cheerleading program as well as donating a new field in which all future practices and home games will be held. what an honor! here are some pics...

happy 1st birthday, hannah!!

saturday we celebrated hannah's first birthday at the tailgate of the UAB vs. tulsa football game. what a great idea, right!? tony and maloney did an awesome job and everything turned out wonderful. sweet hannah banana was too cute watching her get nekkid and tear into her birthday cake. there was a blaze dragon pinata and the party favors for the kids included their own miniature green tailgate chair with their names monogrammed on them. love it. after the tailgate, we all managed to get the whole fam into the blazer club sky box to enjoy the football game together. all in all, it was a great birthday party and game. happy happy 1st birthday, hannah!! xoxo

freaky friday

so we've moved into my mom and dad's house until our new house is finished being built. we are staying downstairs in karmie's old bedroom and i can't believe that i almost forgot how awesome it is. i mean, take a gander for yourself...hide and seek in a bamboo forest, anyone?...

lyla's first soccer game

our sweet little lyla had her first soccer game for the 2012 season on thursday night with the homewood league. when she first arrived, coach jeremy had the kids do some stretches and warm up drills and it was the cutest thing, watching from the sideline. lyla was so excited to play and ran after the ball with her best attempts of kicking it around. friends CJ and charlie are also on her team and we have enjoyed watching all of them. we are so proud of your effort, lyla...and happy that you are having so much fun! here are some pics...

throwback thursday

thursday's thoughts

1.) There's something about reading beach/lake/mountain houses' guest books that make me smile.

2.) RT : Your beliefs don't make you a better person. Your behavior does.

3.) Haven't even moved out yet & already receiving the people who are buying our house's mail. #Sh!tJustGotReal

4.) Words cannot describe how good it feels to organize through my email's inbox. I feel so frazzled when important info is busting at the seams.

5.) Bought toddler new pair of shoes today only for her to start licking them on car ride home. Sometimes I think I have a new puppy instead. #JoysOfParenthood

6.) "Pack, pack, pack, all day long...pack, pack, pack while I sing my song..."

7.) Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach. -Tom Robbins

8.) Loves when a song comes on the radio & my 4 year old says, "Oh, it's my song...turn it up, Mommy!"

9.) Carpool, choir practice, , park, Cheerleading...all with a baby who of all days decides to skip her afternoon nap.

10.) : Nice touch by the Buckeyes Marching Band...played the fight song after the game ended.

11.) : Birthdays are good for your health. Studies have shown that people who have more birthdays live longer.

12.) Thinks it's the cutest thing when Jem finds something she's not suppose to have & then darts off running in hopes of getting away with it. #SneakyLilMidget

13.) : Some days you just feel like a tomato in a fruit basket; you technically belong, but it just doesnt feel right.

14.) : Back in my day we had 9 planets.

15.)  My Lyla hit the jackpot at the bowling alley arcade tonight. The look on her face when she proudly showed me her 75 tickets was priceless. #TheGoodStuff

16.) Packing up & moving a family of 5 is no small feat. It's exhausting. Exciting. Meticulously time-consuming. And I hope to never do it again. #MovingBliss

team CJ's glucaguns

sunday afternoon, we ventured out to veteran's park in honor of stacy's son who has type 1 diabetes. the JDRF's 5k "walk for a cure" was taking place and we walked as a family under the team name of CJ's glucaguns. the kids enjoyed a few of the festivities before the walk started such as writing a letter of hope for a cure which then rewarded them with their own teddy bear, bounced around in the moonwalks and slides, got their hair spray painted all sorts of fun colors, and enjoyed lunch from moe's southwest grill. we had a great time for a good cause and of course, are still praying for a cure. here are some pics...

family fun at the park

saturday afternoon, we headed over to homewood park in honor of lyla's classmate andrew's birthday party. the weather was gorgeous and it was a beautiful day to play outside and eat under the pavilion. also, one of my favorite things about going to birthday parties were other siblings are allowed is that usually the special birthday person has another sibling that matches up with the same age as another one of mine and are in the same class as well...stair step siblings...gotta love it. happy birthday, andrew! here are some pics...

wednesday ritual

every wednesday, jenn and i like to partake in what we call our "wednesday ritual." we have started this since abby and isabelle both take choir together after school and we have an hour or so to kill while waiting on their dismissal. we pick up lyla and owen from carpool and then we head on over to one of our favorite sweet treat spots whether it be organic popsicles at steel city pops, cupcakes at dreamcakes, or ice cream at edgewood creamery. after indulging in a sweet treat, we let the kids play together at the school's playground. we all have a great time despite jemma always wearing her yummy goody. is it wednesday yet!?
