princess brides vs. the dixie chicks

the girls weren't quite sure what they wanted to be for halloween until one night while browsing around the ever-so-awesome gift shop inside our local cracker barrel, they came across the costumes and found a bride one. "i want to be princess bride" says lyla. and why yes, they have seen the movie...overgrown rats and all. "as you wish." got it? good. so they're all super excited with their choice, find their size, and off we go. no sooner than we get home, they must try their costumes on. sure, okay. here they are...
they looked absolutely lovely. but as a mother who tends to over think things some times, i didn't want them to look back at these pictures as if i was forcing the expectations of marriage on them. heck, all i care about is their happiness and their decision to decide...at age 25. and then it came to me...DIXIE.CHICKS. oh yes. you've seen their "ready to run" video. if not, youtube it now. it's awesome, really. so they donned their tennis shoes under their white fluffy miniature wedding dresses and jumped on their bikes. for a simple pose of course. it was priceless. i was so tickled. i love the dixie chicks. here are some pics...
disclaimer: you know in some of my pics, it looks like the moment is cutesy, calm, and pure gold enjoyment...well truth be told, most of the time it's far from it. it's frazzled. chaos. one kid looks, the other two don't. or two kids look and one doesn't. you get my drift. well during this picture taking escapade on lola and pawpaw's front stairs, jem-jem was clearly not having it. no ma'am. she wanted down and she wanted to ride a bike. pictures, smitchers...adios senoritas, let's blow this popsicle stand!! was her mentality. sweet mess. i love my face in the last pic...it pretty much sums up how i felt. lol. here are those pics...
